Om det är något man för lära sig i vapenvåldets USA så är det att vara väldigt försiktig om sin egen säkerhet. Det betyder t.ex. att jag inte är ute efter omkring 21:00 på gatorna i San Francisco, men även att jag håller mig så långt borta från polisen som jag överhuvudtaget kan. För i USA skjuter polisen gärna och ofta och ingen bryr sig. Men när man helt utan rim och reson sköt ihjäl en obeväpnad och helt fredlig australiensisk kvinna i Minneapolis som själv hade larmat polisen så blev det en dödsskjutning för många.

Jag jobbar numera i San Francisco och har fått lära mig att det gäller att vara försiktig, mycket försiktig. Folk är beväpnade och knarket flödar. Blir man skjuten så är det ingen som bryr sig.
