Det går bra, förbluffande bra, för Apple som har tagit en klar ledning med innovativa produkter som iPhone och iPad. Ett tecken på hur bra det går är att Apple nu har köpt upp HP:s stora campus vid Homestead och Wolfe i Cupertino, se kartan, för att kunna få plats för alla nya anställda.
Apple har alltid legat vid De Anza Boulevard och Interstate 280 i Cupertino, inte långt från den villa där Steve Jobs växte upp. Ett tag såg det ut som om den krympande Apple skulle bli uppköpt men nu är företaget på väg upp i stratosfären.

At a time when Apple is adding new workers almost as fast as it sells new iPhones and iPads, the pioneering computer maker has made a 98-acre land purchase that will roughly double the size of its home base in Cupertino. Apple’s latest acquisition is the longtime Cupertino campus of rival tech giant Hewlett-Packard, the Mercury News learned Wednesday.
HP announced over the summer that it planned to move out of that site, which it had occupied for decades, as it consolidates operations at its Palo Alto headquarters over the next two years. Analysts said the deal is a positive indicator for both Apple and the Silicon Valley economy overall. It’s no surprise the company needs more room: In the past year, Apple reported $65 billion in sales and added 12,300 employees to its global work force of 46,600, many of them in Cupertino. “They’ve just had spectacular growth,” said longtime Apple watcher Tim Bajarin, president of the consulting firm Creative Strategies.
Det är viktigt att påpeka att ingenting, absolut ingenting, är dyrare än just mark här i det lilla smala Silicon Valley, så att Apple har råd att köpa så stora områden visar hur kraftigt företaget nu växer.
